Six people were shot and hurt by gunmen on Constant Spring Road in St. Andrew early on Friday. They are believed to be members of dancehall superstar Jahshii’s entourage.
The artist, according to the authorities, was able to go unharmed.
According to reports, criminals riding motorcycles accosted the entertainer and a group of men as they were leaving a popular nightclub on Constant Spring Road at around 4:30am.
According to a senior police officer, the armed thugs shot at the van carrying the artist and other members of his group before fleeing the area.
The group’s six injured members were sent directly to the hospital for treatment.
Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, head of the St. Andrew Central Police Division, has confirmed the event.
The event led to significant traffic delays in the region, according to the police report. The area has now been cleaned up, making the road open to traffic.
