Due to certain drivers of the government-owned Jamaica Urban Transit Corporation (JUTC) engaging in strike action, commuters around the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region (KMTR) have been left stranded.

Cecil Thoms, the JUTC’s corporate communications manager, has verified this in a succinct statement.

Thoms said that the driver’s actions caused the bus company’s normal service to be disrupted.

There are a ton of people at our main transit hubs as a result, said Thoms.
We’re advising commuters to find alternate transportation to reach where they’re going. We’ll keep you informed, said Thoms.
He did not explain why he struck.
