The incident unfolded during the late hours of Sunday in the picturesque region of Westmoreland.

Tragically, a promising 23-year-old named Daniel Gunter, affectionately known as Bill, hailing from the serene enclave of Whitehall in Negril, bore the brunt of this senseless violence.
The details, as revealed by law enforcement, recount that at approximately 9:40pm, Gunter found himself amidst a cluster of individuals along a stretch of road within his close-knit community.
Without warning, a menacing cohort of gunmen descended from a Nissan Tida motor car, launching a barrage of gunfire at Gunter and a fellow companion.
The repercussions of this horrific encounter were swift and dire. Both victims were swiftly transported to a medical facility, where valiant efforts were made to salvage their lives.
Regrettably, Gunter’s injuries proved fatal, prompting his heartbreaking passing, while his companion received urgent medical attention to address the gunshot wounds sustained.
