In a dramatic and intense encounter early this morning, three men, including one of the most
wanted criminals in the St. Catherine North division, were fatally shot by police during a
coordinated operation in Tryall Heights, Spanish Town. This high-stakes operation underscores
the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to clamp down on criminal activities in one of Jamaica’s
most notorious regions.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., a joint police-military task force deployed to a specific location in Tryall Heights as part of a larger operation targeting known criminals. According to official reports, as the security forces approached the premises, the men inside unleashed a barrage of gunfire.

The officers, following protocol, returned fire in a bid to neutralize the threat.
After the exchange of gunfire subsided, officers found three men critically injured.
They promptly transported them to the Spanish Town Hospital, where doctors pronounced
all three dead on arrival.
Among the deceased is an individual who had been on the St. Catherine North police’s
most-wanted list for some time. This individual was reportedly linked to a series of
violent crimes that have plagued the area, making his neutralization a significant
victory for law enforcement. The identities of the other two men are yet to be
confirmed, but police sources suggest they may also have been involved in criminal
activities.
In addition to the fatalities, police recovered two firearms from the scene, marking yet another
successful seizure in the ongoing battle against illegal weapons.
The operation is part of a broader strategy by the police to dismantle criminal
networks operating within Spanish Town and surrounding areas.
While the community of Tryall Heights remains on edge following the morning’s events, law enforcement officials have reiterated their commitment to restoring peace and order. The Police High Command has also urged residents with any information that could aid in the ongoing investigations to come forward.
This incident is the latest in a series of confrontations between the police and heavily armed criminals in Spanish Town, a hotspot for gang-related violence. As the investigation continues, authorities expect more details to emerge, shedding further light on the circumstances that led to this deadly encounter.
More details will be provided as they become available.
