Three siblings, including an 11-year-old girl, were slain in a home in Irwin, St James last evening.

Dead are 20-year-old twin brothers, Jevaugh and Jevaughni Stewart. Their younger sister, Peta-Gaye Cooke, was also killed during the attack.

Reports from the St. James Police are at approximately 8:00 o’clock last evening, unknown assailants entered the family’s home.

Sources indicate that the Stewart twins were the target of the attack.

It’s understood that Peta-Gaye was shot and killed by the assailants as she tried to escape the shooting.

The police are investigating the incident.

Statistics provided by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, indicate that the St James Police Division leads the nation in murders.

Up to March 7 this year, 45 people were killed in the division. That’s seven more murders than over the similar period of 2021.

However, murders are down nationally over the same period. Two hundred and sixty-two people were been killed up to March 7 this year.

That’s 24 fewer murders when compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
