The assault on a taxi driver in St Ann was caught on camera, and the police claim to have caught one of the transport providers who were part of the group.
According to sources, the cab driver was attacked and beaten because he refused to take part in a strike that transport companies planned for Monday through Tuesday.
According to reports, a police officer who was passing by noticed what was occurring and saved the victim.
According to reports, the policeman fired bullets into the air to dissuade the assailants.
The renegade cab drivers were attempting to unite with other drivers in Kingston and St. Andrew who began a protest on Monday to express their displeasure with a number of amendments implemented to the New Traffic Act.
