According to the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), soldiers stopped a ship carrying about 2,000 pounds of cocaine this morning.

Three Jamaicans who were on the go-fast boat, according to the JDF, were apprehended and are currently undergoing processing.

The army estimates that the 19 huge bunches of cocaine are worth J$1.1 billion on the market.

It stated that the cargo of cocaine originated in South America and added that it’s Air and Cyber Command intercepted it after working in concert with the JDF Air Wing and JDF Coast Guard.

The necessary and proper authorities have been alerted, according to the JDF, and the investigation is still underway.

It claims that it remains watchful in defending Jamaica’s blue economy through its cooperative operational capabilities in the marine and aerial spaces day and night.

In order to help the security forces clear the nation of criminal activities, Jamaicans are also invited to call the JDF tip hotline at 876-837-8888.
