The St Ann Police Division deployed an operation on Monday which led to the seizure of an illegal firearm containing 15 rounds of ammunition while conducting their operation on Monday in Ocho Rios.
Based on information gathered from the Ocho Rios police division, are that at about 10:30am, the police conducted a search of an enterprise established in the Ocho Rios area.
While conducting the search of the premises, a Taurus 9mm pistol plus a magazine with 15 rounds of ammunition were found carefully hidden within the trunk of an almond tree discovered in the car parking lot area of the enterprise.
An unidentified man was taken into custody based on the 9mm pistol that was found and seized, however, we say unidentified because his identity is being withheld pending additional inquiries.
