In a tragic incident that unfolded on Thursday evening, a fatal shooting has shaken Old Harbour, St. Catherine. The victim has been identified as Kyle Plummer, hailing from a Spanish Town address within the parish.
The shooting transpired just steps away from the Old Harbour Town police station, lending a shocking proximity to the tragic event.
Circumstances captured by comprehensive CCTV footage reveal a figure dressed in an eye-catching orange pullover and jeans, loitering outside a prominent business establishment. Engrossed in his mobile phone, the individual paced anxiously. Notably, upon spotting the watchful gaze of the surveillance camera, he made a hasty attempt to conceal his identity, all while remaining steadfast in his pursuit.
A pivotal moment ensued as Kyle Plummer emerged from a nearby building. Poised to enter a waiting taxi, his intentions were abruptly shattered. The assailant, armed and resolute, closed in swiftly. In a series of harrowing actions, shots were fired, tragically ending Mr Plummer’s life with multiple wounds to his head and upper body.
Authorities were promptly summoned to the scene; however, the valuable time elapsed as ten critical minutes slipped by before the victim could be transported to a medical facility. Regrettably, his life could not be salvaged, and he was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
The perpetrator managed to evade capture, fleeing the scene on foot and plunging the community into disbelief and mourning.
