Businessman allegedly shot a man during an argument and has since been charged

Derval Thompson, 42, of Love Lane in Kingston, also known as “Indian” or “Coolie,” has been charged with Wounding with Purpose, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition in connection with an incident that occurred on Beeston Street in Kingston on Sunday, June 18.
According to reports, Thompson approached the man and challenged him about a disagreement he had with another person. The complainant was then shot by Thompson, who subsequently fled the scene on foot.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he was admitted and given treatment, after which the police were called.
Police detained Thompson on Sunday, June 25, and on Monday, July 3, he was charged. His court date is now being set.
