💥 How the Heist Unfolded
Police reports reveal that around 2:00 a.m., a group of armed men forced their way into the building by removing the rear door. But their plan quickly fell apart when they were confronted by a licensed firearm holder.
“Armed men broke into the business place, and he (the firearm holder) challenged them. During the exchange of gunfire, one man was hit,” explained Superintendent Ainsley McCarthy, head of the Portland Police Division.
The injured suspect was rushed to the Port Antonio Hospital, where he later died.

Law enforcement moved swiftly, sealing off the area and seizing a vehicle believed to have been used in the attempted robbery. The driver was taken into custody, and follow-up operations across multiple parishes led to the arrest of seven additional suspects.
Officers also recovered a 9mm pistol and several rounds of ammunition, strengthening their case against the men.

In a shocking twist, police confirmed that the mother and sister of one of the suspects are among those detained. Investigators also revealed that none of the accused men are from Portland, with addresses traced to Kingston, St Andrew, and St Catherine.
