In a shocking incident at the Caribbean Carnival near Toronto’s waterfront, two men were left with serious injuries following a brutal stabbing. The incident, which occurred at approximately 7:40 p.m., has raised concerns about safety and security at public events.
According to Toronto police, the stabbing took place near Remembrance Drive and Lake Shore
Boulevard West. Sgt. Sean Cassidy, speaking to CP24, confirmed that both victims sustained
critical stab wounds and were immediately transported to the hospital.
In a surprising turn of events, both injured individuals were also taken into custody. Sgt. Cassidy stated, “We believe that the two people we have in custody were involved in the altercation.” This statement suggests that the altercation might have been a mutual confrontation rather than a random attack.

Despite the chaos, the police were able to respond quickly due to their significant presence at the Caribbean Carnival Grand Parade. “We had big crowds,” Cassidy noted, emphasizing the importance of a large police presence at such events. “We did have a large contingent of officers down here policing this detail, so we got officers on the scene quickly.”
