After an incident at St. Catherine on Friday, May 5, members of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) have confirmed that Horace “LA” Lewis was detained.
Lewis, who according to the police is well-known in the entertainment sector, is accused of violating the Toll Authority Act.
Lewis allegedly took and shared a video of himself allegedly jumping a toll gate in St. Catherine on social media, which led to Lewis’ arrest.
Lewis said in the video that the standard toll booth line was taking too long, so he chose to forcefully drive through a T-tag barrier instead.
The JCF stated in a release that it was serving as a reminder to everyone that breaching the law has repercussions no matter who is responsible.
The JCF stated that it “encourages individuals to obey the law and to act properly and politely toward our public institutions.”
The message stated, “The JCF is steadfast and committed to preserving the rule of law and safeguarding public safety for all.”
