The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) announced another severe security compromise related to regional tests in Jamaica in a brief statement on Wednesday afternoon.

This follows another compromise in mathematics earlier this year, which is currently being investigated.

The following is the entire text of CXC’s most recent statement:

“The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) was notified on Wednesday, 14 June 2023, that fireproof cabinets containing test papers for nine courses set to be administered this week were taken from a school in Jamaica.”

“This is of great concern to CXC, and the Ministry of National Security and the Jamaica Police Force are looking into it” (JCF).
“CXC is in continual touch with Jamaica’s Ministry of Education and Youth, and an update was provided with education ministers from throughout the region during a meeting earlier today” (Wednesday).
“CXC is deciding on a plan of action and will contact the education ministry today.”
“More information will be provided when it becomes available.”
