Christmas is being detained after being charged with murder at Kingston Tech.

The female student from Kingston Technical High School, age 17, who is accused of killing a classmate recently, won’t be spending Christmas at home.

When the case was heard last week in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, the juvenile was further remanded in jail.

On January 11, 2023, the minor—whose identity cannot be disclosed because of her age—will return to court.

Since the matter had already been placed under a gag order when it was last referenced on November 9, it is difficult to determine exactly what happened in court throughout the sessions.

The teenage suspect is accused of killing Michion Campbell, 16, of Nine Miles, Bull Bay in St. Andrew.

According to information from the Central police, Campbell and the other schoolgirl got into a fight on the school’s grounds in downtown Kingston on Friday, September 29 about 2:30 pm.

After the argument heated up, both schoolgirls were discovered to have stab wounds.

The second youngster was treated and placed in police custody as they were rushed to the hospital, where Campbell was later declared dead.

The teenager who survived was subsequently detained and accused.

Since then, she has been in police detention.
