The Spanish Town police have confirmed the murder of popular local blogger Nigel Anthony Walford, also known as ‘Big Meech’, in an early-afternoon shooting incident on Friday in St Catherine.

Reports are that Walford was shot at about 1pm in the community of Red Pond in the parish as he was about to enter a taxi.

The indications are that he was gunned down by an unknown assailant.

The driver of the taxi was also shot in the incident.

Walford was known for his informative blogs on the supposed inner ‘runnings’ of the August Town community in St Andrew.

No motive has yet been established for the killing.
