Motorists are calling on the authorities to fix the traffic light at the intersection of Lindsay Crescent and Dunrobin Avenue, just above Washington Boulevard in St Andrew, as it has been out of service since Saturday.

The issue has also attracted the attention of the police.

On Monday, several officers were seen directing traffic at that location as the new school year got underway.

The police said because of the traffic light is not functioning, they have been monitoring the area and doing what they can to ensure there is no pile-up of traffic.

One officer said he even raised the concern with the National Works Agency (NWA) and was told by officials at the company that the issue should be addressed by the Jamaica Public Service.
