Around 11 p.m. on Saturday, a popular dancehall performer known as “Mad Daag 6ix” was shot and killed on Mount Zion’s main road in St. James.

The triple homicide shook a parish where violence has been on the upswing since last week.

Mad Daag 6ix is also recognized for his connections to dancehall performers like Squash and Chronic Law.

Also, he worked with Squash on the song “Temper Issue,” which has received 3.6 million views on YouTube.

Rich Boss ft. Templeboss and Money and Gun are more tunes by the now-deceased musician that are popular.

Fans of the singer have subsequently posted condolences on social media.

The shooting may have had gang ties, but the police are still looking into it.
