On Friday, a police corporal was convicted guilty of counts of assault coming from acts he took against a female biker, knocking her unconscious while conducting an arrest four years prior.

Following the completion of the trial in the St. Catherine Parish Court, Corporal Owen McCleary was declared guilty.

The officer will get a punishment on February 24.

The event happened on Mandela Highway in St. Catherine on August 17, 2018, and it sparked a great deal of public indignation after a video of the brawl went viral on social media.

According to reports, the woman reportedly passed a motorcar while riding her motorcycle along a route.

Then, according to reports, the stated automobile struck the rear of her motorcycle.

In the then-viral video, a guy in plain clothes who was eventually identified as the policeman approached the woman and collared her.

She was then knocked to the ground on the street and the policeman arrested her as she passed out.

Injured but finally awake, the lady was escorted to a police station where she was accused of assault, malicious property destruction, and resisting arrest.

When the lady appeared in court in December 2018, all of the accusations were dropped.

The policeman was charged with assault after the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) looked into the event.
