Five individuals who were allegedly caught on camera hitting another prisoner have been prosecuted by the Ocho Rios police. A caustic liquid was also seen being thrown on the victim by the males in the video.

Following an altercation on January 19 in the Ocho Rios jail, the males were charged with assault causing great bodily harm and illegal wounding.

The males have been identified as Dejaro Taylor, also known as “Dusso,” 33, of Steer Town, St. Ann; Theoni Flemings, 21, of Islington, St. Mary; Dale Douglas, 32; Richard Jackson, 23, of Hart Street, Kingston; and Tajar Lynch, 20, of Runaway Bay, St. Ann.

According to reports, an altercation between the two guys erupted between 8:00 and 9:00 pm, at which point the inmate was assaulted. He was transported to the hospital where he received treatment and is now back in police custody.
