In a shocking turn of events, a man identified as Orlando Coward, alias ‘Theo’, met his demise at the hands of enraged residents in St. Ann. Allegedly involved in a string of heinous crimes, Coward’s fate took a grim twist on Friday morning.
Coward, a 36-year-old resident of Gray Wood, St. Ann, stood accused of the abhorrent crimes of kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl from Castle Kelly District. Shockingly, the victim, still in her school uniform, fell prey to Coward’s clutches while innocently taking a taxi. Subsequently, she endured harrowing experiences of repeated sexual assaults within Coward’s confines before bravely managing to escape, seeking refuge in a nearby hospital.
Despite the report filed against him, Coward resorted to further despicable acts. Armed with makeshift weapons—an improvised shotgun and handgun—he brazenly attempted to abduct an 8-year-old girl from another household. The swift intervention of the child’s mother thwarted this sinister plan, yet Coward, undeterred, seized her 2-year-old son and fled into the surrounding foliage, prompting a frantic search and rescue operation by local residents.
In a chilling escalation, Coward escalated his reign of terror by invading yet another residence, menacing its occupants at gunpoint. Faced with such brazen criminality, the community rallied together, confronting Coward with machetes and ultimately disarming him. However, the confrontation turned fatal, resulting in Coward’s lifeless body being discovered in a nearby canal, bearing numerous lacerations from the villagers’ improvised weapons.
