In a heartbreaking and tragic event that has left the community in shock, a three-year-old boy was brutally killed, and five others were injured in Pagee, Port Maria, St. Mary, Jamaica. The incident occurred on a Wednesday afternoon, leaving a trail of devastation and grief.
Details of the Incident – 3-year-old
The young victim, identified as Asha Campbell of Pagee, was enjoying a stroll with family members when the attack happened. According to the Port Maria Police, between 3:30 and 4:00 pm, the family was viciously assaulted by a man believed to be mentally ill. Armed with an iron pipe and a knife, the attacker inflicted severe injuries on the group.
Asha Campbell tragically lost his life during the assault. The boy’s mother and five others sustained multiple cut wounds while valiantly trying to fend off the attacker and protect the young child.
Immediate Response and Aftermath
Following the attack, the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite the swift response, the little boy was pronounced dead upon arrival. The other victims remain hospitalized, with one individual treated and subsequently released.
The police have since apprehended the suspect, ensuring that he can no longer pose a threat to the community. The investigation is ongoing as the authorities seek to understand the motive and mental state of the perpetrator.
